Follow a workflow through its steps.

The workflow profile gives a client a view of the overall process alongside the runs that perform its steps. The application backend executes the workflow; Narad Protocol represents its recorded progress.

Lifecycle and decisions

Lifecycle events describe running, paused, resumed, finished, failed, and cancelled work. Interrupts represent decisions that need a person. A resolved interrupt closes that request; the backend records the resulting continuation or terminal state.

Steps and attempts

workflow.step.started, workflow.step.finished, and workflow.step.failed update the client view of each step, its attempt, and linked agent run.

The path actually taken

workflow.edge.taken records the selected transition, including the source and destination and the matching condition information. The reducer retains transitions so the interface can show the route through a branching process.

Recover the view

Workflow sequence checks detect gaps. Replay the application’s ordered history to recover state rather than guessing from the last visible message. Checkpointing and execution recovery remain the backend’s responsibility.
